Fly Fishing Technique : Sepia cuttlefish fishing with female

We explain one of the techniques more curious and simple fishing for cuttlefish fishing

One of the oldest techniques of fishing that can be found in sepia fishing is the use of female cuttlefish as bait.

Basically it is a female sepia anzuelar and wait for the male cuttlefish go in their quest to mate. Obviously this technique can only be performed in mating season but is very effective.

After much looking around, it seems that the way to know if a cuttlefish is male or female is black dots that are common on the back of the female sepia. Although little can become recognizable when the female is very excited and change much of tonality. I could not tell if it is an accurate method to find out, but we have to implement it.

The fishing technique is very simple, cuttlefish female anzuela and let her freely in the water. We must be attentive to the movements, tugs and weight gain to know that a male sepia has come to mate. At that time we raise it to the surface and the sepia Salobrar to prevent escape because it is not subject to anything.

As in most, if not all, fishing techniques, this technique has improved effectiveness if we practice with a female sepia alive. By this we remind you to consider that in some jurisdictions fishing with live bait is prohibited. Female fish with sepia can also be accomplished with a dead sepia, although it is less effective.
