Fly Fishing Technique : Fishing hermits

The hermit's family of crustaceans, can measure up to 10 cm. Long is characterized by having a larger caliper than the other which used to get food, has the peculiarity of leverage and live in shells abandoned dead snails, this is due to have a soft shell and this is their way of protecting . It is an excellent bait for bream fishing such as bream, bream, glazed snapper etc.

It is a bait that is not available to everyone because as it is not marketed for food, only you can find it in some fishing houses or if you are lucky enough to know or have access to boats trawling.

The best way is to use the hermits living anzuelándolos but if you get them and you have the choice to go on the day you get them out of the shell and freeze, fresh water always untouched since its shell remains soft.

How to mount it on the hook is passing through a needle worm and gamete must pass head first followed by its interior and finally out by the end of the soft abdomen and thus hide the hook inside the head. A tip to last longer is to use chopped strand of Lycra and give a few laps, thus the abdomen last a couple of thrusts of our desired part.

To get the hermit have two ways of doing this, one is to break the shell and risk to smash and one that works for me very well involves heating the shell with a lighter, and you will see that speed out of the shell and thus take it out entirely. I leave a video where you will see another form of anzuelar a hermit.
